Hawthorne Publishing is a progressive, new publishing company that specializes in Canadian self-published fiction, travel, biography, and creative non-fiction books.

A large majority of the books we publish we either initiate ourselves or acquire through previous contact with the author. We sometimes publish books that are unsolicited. We welcome queries from authors.

Dynamic, creative, and highly energetic describe Sandra Harper, author, travel writer, editor, poet, speaker and educator. Her book, TRAVELING THE SUN: A HEALING JOURNEY THROUGH MOROCCO, TUNISIA AND SPAIN, will inspire readers that a journey can be more than a trip to a place. Readers will be entertained by a story of the author's journey through Morocco, Tunisia and Spain, and intrigued by the process of personal change that is revealed.

Sandra authors educational articles, edits journals and an award-winning Social Studies textbook, and contributes travel articles to magazines and newspapers. As well, she is the managing editor of Hawthorne Publishing Company. She is a consultant with educational organizations locally and internationally, and has provided countless workshops and seminars.

Sandra is an executive member of the Canadian Authors Association and a member of the B.C. Association of Travel Writers, B.C. Federation of Writers, and Burnaby Writers' Society and holds a PhD. in evaluation of curricular innovation. She is a recognized educator in the public school system and at the university level when she isn't traveling the world. Sandra is based in Vancouver, B.C.
